Howdy everyone,
Well its coming to the last couple weeks of school. I already did one of my four finals this past Friday, this coming week is going to be a weird one. So at this University they start their "finals week" in the middle of the week. Tomorrow is my last day of classes, then the finals week starts on Wednesday and goes all the way till Dec. 15th. Who has a final on a Saturday? I feel sorry for those people who have one at 6-9pm that day. But any who my finals are spread out like crazy. My next final is Friday the 7th, my third final is not till that next Wednesday then my last final is on that Saturday the 15th! But it's ok, I have a lot to do in between those days.
After tomorrow I'm going to be studying and start packing at the same time. This whole time I have been here I keep telling myself, this is so surreal, I can't believe I'm here and on and on. But now I'm saying its so surreal I'm actually leaving and heading back home. Two weeks are nothing and looking at my calender makes it look like its tomorrow. So I am going to be cleaning, packing, studying, and taking in my last weeks here in Prince George/Canada!
These past two weeks have been hell. I have been writing and writing papers. I am so exhausted and mentally drained, but it is almost done. I have my last paper to turn in tomorrow and then it is the homestretch. I am really going to miss this place and this time. But I am ready to go home, and use American money and not worry about being charged a currency fee for everything, see my family, friends, my Conrad, and everything.
The snow is amazing here, it snows every other day or every two days. I am use to it now, that is what I am going to miss the most. When I am walking to class or the gym, the trees look so beautiful like its fake or something you would see on a card. One of the things I will never forget is working out and being able to see it snow. There gym on campus is amazing. It is three levels and on the third level is an indoor track and in the four corners of the track are areas with weights, tread-mills and what not. Well on the sides of the gym it is nothing but window, so you could see the campus and one of the parking lots. And it is just so awesome to be running or whatever and watch it snow outside. The view is unexplainable. Some of mother natures finest work!
Well I gotta go so I'll put this post to sleep for now. Can't believe its the final countdown. Have a wonderful week everyone and be safe! I will see the USA soon!!!

Thanksgiving for me!
Hello!
Well this past week has been an adventure. The weekend before last, my roommate and I had a memorable event. Long story short we drove over a sewage thing sticking out of the dirt road and it messed up her skid plate. It was so funny. We fixed it all by ourselves. She pulled over jacked her car up and I got underneath and took it off and went along our day like nothing. It was really funny and awesome. Then this past week has been insane! From Monday to Tuesday I did not sleep for those two days. I was up at 6:30 Monday morning till Tuesday night. I was finishing up two papers. It was crazy but I got it done.
Then my wonderful mom bought my roommates and I our Thanksgiving dinner. So Thursday, I cooked the turkey and we had mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and some wine. It was such a great night. It was my roommates, another exchange student from Denmark and I. It did hit home a little when the day actually came. I didn't even think about how I would feel not being home for Thanksgiving for the first time and alone. The dinner was awesome and helped me feel a little closer to home. And my roommates enjoyed it and we realized this was one of our last big dinners before we all leave. But my roommate from Denmark had experienced an American Thanksgiving so that was cool to be the one to show her.
This weekend was a nice relaxing one. Friday night I did walk out to Shane Lake (the one by campus) and with snow everywhere it was a walk. lol But the view of the lake was priceless. I could not get a picture but it was something to see. The reason for going to Shane Lake was because one of my friends who is an exchange student from Germany. It was her birthday Friday and she wanted to go out to the lake and have a BBQ! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be for this time of year especially but we bundled up and we were good to go. We had two fires going, one was for the grill and the other was to stay warm. They brought hot dogs, burgers, and chicken wings, put it all on the grill. They also brought two different salads and a little burner to make hot chocolate. It was an amazing night.
Yesterday one of my roommates and I went for a morning walk on a path across the university. We walked for about an hour and it was beautiful. The path was a little icy but the morning sun was out and bright. Very nice.
It is now the start of a new week and after this week I have half of next week left and then we start finals. It is insane how fast this time has been going by. I can't believe I'm already wrapping this semester up and head home soon!! ahhhhh!!!! Still gotta take it all in! Till next time, have a good one!!!

Remembrance Day
Hello,
These weeks are just going by too quick and the paper due dates are here and there and everywhere! It is just too crazy. I have been looking back at when I first got here till now and it still don't seem real to me. I know I keep saying this but it is true. Here is this native girl from a small reservation and town, just about wrapping up my degree and studying abroad in Canada. For me this is too surreal. I couldn't even imagine that I was going to college as it is and to made it this far and doing what I am doing now is unbelievable. I am just so grateful for getting this opportunity and chance to do this.
On other note, it is Veterans day back home and Remembrance day here in Canada. They are pretty much the same thing. We have no classes tomorrow because of Remembrance Day which is fine with me. I haven't had a break since the Thanksgiving here a month ago. So I will be working on papers tomorrow. Even though I dread doing papers, I am somewhat glad I have projects to do and keep me on my toes. I think that is what is making this time go by so much faster, just having dead lines.
I am having the time of my life right now but it seems the closer the days are coming to go home it seems like it is getting harder (at times.) The first two months I had this state of mind of doing everything I can and take it all in. And I did and still am but with the holidays coming up and just how long I have been here is getting to me a little. I am anxious for these last few weeks. I miss my family, I miss my apartment, I miss my boyfriend, I miss NM weather, I miss my sweet nephews and their little hugs, I miss reading the temperature in Fahrenheit and I just miss my life. Don't get me wrong I love this and everything but when December 16 comes, it is going to be bittersweet. But any who till then I am still enjoying and taking in Prince George and UNBC!
This past Friday I finally went to a basketball game! And it was really awesome! Both the men and women won. It was really awesome to see their patriotism and hear a different national anthem. That was pretty cool to hear them and see them stand to the Canadian flag. But the game was good and the UNBC teams have some talent.

October who?
Hi everybody!
(These first 2 paragarphs were from the second going into the third week of Oct. I started working on it and haven't had a chance to get back to it. So after these paragraphs I'll catch you all up. :)
Well nothing but new adventures, people, and learning everyday! This week going into next week are mid terms for UNBC. I got two of my three mid terms down, my last one is on Monday. It is unbelievable how fast the time is going by. I have a huge calander that does four months at a time, which was perfect for my stay here. I written down the due dates of all my classes for the whole semester, and let me tell you, it is making the time fly by even faster. Everytime I look at the calender it doesn't seem like I have been here that long and did that much stuff. It is amazing!
I finally went to a pub (bar) here and it was too cool. One of my roommates and I went out for a drink Saturday night, a little reward to ourselves for study all day! The pub was right down the road from UNBC, it was a nice, chill place. It was just like any other sports bar or bar like back home. When we got there, there was just some background music and later on that night they were going to have a live band. The band was awesome! They were older gentlemen and they played the good stuff, they played some zz top, skynyrd, rod stewart and so much more. It reminded me of home and my family, it was a really good evening. The only thing that I didn't like and that was different was when we were getting ID they take a picture of you. I thought that was a little akward.
October has just flown by! I can't believe that it is already November! I have 5weeks left here and it is still so surreal to me. I have been so busy with papers and homework that I look at what I have left for this semester and it is not that much! I got a bad cold last week which had me out for awhile but I feel great now and just ready to bust all this homework out! Everyone back home has been asking me if they celebrate Halloween here and the answer is... Yes lol. We had some events on campus and at the pubs here, just like back home. Halloween was good really good.
This past month also my roommate from Denmark, her parents and her younger brother came to Canada to visit her. They were here for 2weeks. Emilie (my roommate) she took a bus to Vancouver, which is about a 11hr bus ride but 1hr flight and met them there. They spent a few days in Vancouver, WA seattle, then made their way up to Prince George. Her mom brought us a special candle that the Danish us for Christmas, it is really cute. Ill post some pics on my fb. But I met all of them and they are really nice people.
Other than all of that just staying busy on homework, working out and hanging out with my roommates. It has been such a blast and I can't believe only 5more weeks. I am still making the best of it and my roommates and I have a few more things on our bucket list so I will keep you all posted. Sorry bout not posting for quite some time, but it won't happen again lol. Have a good week everyone!!

Thanksgiving weekend for Canada.
Hello everyone,
Sorry I haven't been able to post in a while, I've been bonding a lot more with my roommates one on one. I honestly couldn't have asked for more amazing people to share this experience with, like I said in the beginning when I got here we all connected right away. We have done some much together since day one. We try new things together, work out together, and really care about each other's lives and whats going on with them.
The past two weeks I have been so occupied with school, doing things with my roommates or skyping with my family and the time is really flying by. And for the past two weeks I have also been a little down. So much has been going on with me,with me being so far from home and still getting use to the fact I am really here and missing my family. But I have gathered my thoughts and everything and I am better now, I just got a little homesick thats all. Now that this semester is in full swing I already feel like the time is really going to slip and I am loving and enjoying every minute of it. I have something due every week and focusing on that alone the week to week is going to go by very quickly.
Other than that this past weekend was a little interesting. It was Canada/UNBC's Thanksgiving weekend-break and to me it was just a three day weekend. It was a little strange to hear my professors on Friday say, "Have a Happy Thanksgiving break." I was like it is not Thanksgiving it's barley October? It was kind of funny to me, but I just hanged out with a few new friends of mine. All but one of them were from over seas, two are from Germany, the other from England and then from Toronto. We spent friday night out at Shane lake (the one by UNBC), and we built a fire and just got to know eachother. It was an awesome night. Then the rest of the weekend I cleaned my dorm, was lazy for a while, and watched movies, not too bad of a weekend.
I don't know this post was going to be everywhere, it was hard to explain and express everything that I want to say. But I'm going to try and not wait weeks until my next post. So until then take care!

Third week down
Hi guys!
So this past week and weekend has been yet another adventure. I have been hiking like no other since I have been here. Which makes me stop and think, I really take advantage of all the beauty and nature that my surrounding offer me back home. I have always loved to be outdoors but being here has really opened my eyes to how much I really love and enjoy it. And I know that I am going to take this back home with me.
This past weekend I went on a camping trip with the ORTM (Outdoor, recreation, and tourism management) group, at this place called Eskers. Eskers is about 30mins out of Prince George, so it wasn't too far but a ways out of town. It was beautiful. People are really not allowed to camp at Eskers Park, it is only opened certain hours of the day to the public, (just so they can preserve the forest and park.) But the ORTM program was lucky enough to get a grant from the park for this past weekend. They let us camp in a meadow, (out of the public eye) and let us help them with an event Saturday. Saturday the park rangers of Eskers had an event for the public to come and experience some of the things that Eskers has to offer and us ORTM students got to helped with that. Where we were camped was walking distance to where the event was held, so we got there a few hours earlier and some of the rangers talked to us about Eskers and some job opportunities.Then we got to get in a hike before everyone else got there. So some of the events they had were a short guided hike or a really long hike, a mushroom hike and a GPS hike (which I did,) then they had a set up for the children, where they could paint and do arts and crafts. The GPS hike was a lot of fun, we had one of the ORTM 4th yr. students guide the hike and show us how to us a GPS and use coordinates. Then after the full day of events we just cooked out, made smores and we all learned a new game called mafia. That night was so much fun and our camping spot was gorgeous. When it would start getting dark the fog would just creep in. It was so beautiful and natural, I loved it.
These past three weeks have been unbelievable. At times I have to stop and "smell the roses." I just think, "Am I really in Canada? Am I really doing and experiencing all of this? Is this really happening to me?" I couldn't be more thankful to have this opportunity. And these past few days have been really hard on me because I am really starting to miss my family, friends, and my Conrad. It's not that I am homesick, I mean I do miss home but not to the point I wanna just pick up and leave, but I just miss the physical part of my family, friends and Conrad. I just miss holding my nephews in my arms, I miss coming home to Conrad and our evenings together, I miss kicking back with my mom and sister and just being ditsy. But at the same time I look at my calendar in my dorm room and the time is flying by already.
I didn't think to much of blogs at first but I like it. I am glad that I can share my experience and feelings with you all while I am on my journey, (even if no one reads it that is still fine with me, at least I can release some of my thoughts onto the keyboard.) Well I better put this one to bed for now, so until next time take care!!
